Meghan Trainor's Former Los Angeles Estate Sees Significant Price Reduction

Grammy-winning singer Meghan Trainor has substantially lowered the price of her Encino, Los Angeles, estate. After nearly two years without a buyer and an initial asking price approaching $12 million, the renovated property is now available for just under $7 million, reflecting a $5 million markdown. Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, acquired the residence in late 2020 and have since undertaken significant updates.

In 2024, Meghan Trainor purchased DJ Zedd's lavish mansion for over $17 million. Shortly thereafter, she placed another of her San Fernando Valley properties on the market. This second home, originally acquired from rapper TMG Fresh for $6.6 million in late 2020, has undergone a considerable price adjustment. The current listing, managed by Justin Paul Huchel of Carolwood Estates, now seeks a price just shy of $7 million for the sophisticated estate.

Constructed in the late 1990s, the residence boasts a multi-level white stucco design, secured behind prominent gates and hedges. Spanning approximately 14,100 square feet, the main house features six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Additionally, there is a separate two-story guesthouse, complete with a gym on the lower level and an upper floor offering a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. An expansive motor court and a carport provide parking for up to ten vehicles.

The main home's interior welcomes with an entry foyer featuring a striking double staircase, leading to two formal living areas. A comfortable family room flows into the wood-paneled kitchen, which is equipped with dual islands, high-end Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a wine refrigerator, and a dining space with sliding glass doors that open to the backyard. The ground floor also includes an office and a guest bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.

Upstairs, five more en-suite bedrooms await, including a luxurious primary suite. This primary retreat is distinguished by custom glass doors that open to a separate fireside sitting area with balcony access, two walk-in closets, and a spacious bathroom featuring a soaking tub encased in white marble and a shower adorned with book-matched black marble.

Further enhancing the property's appeal, a lower-level recording studio offers a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a private entrance. A top-floor loft is currently configured as a playroom. The outdoor amenities are equally impressive, set within a lush, more than one-acre expanse. These include a lagoon-style pool with a spa, Baja shelf, waterfall, and water slide. The grounds also feature a fire pit, a covered alfresco dining area with a barbecue and bar, a tennis court, a mini-putting green, and a children's playground. Trainor and Sabara also acquired a newly built contemporary home in Encino in 2023 for $3.1 million, further expanding their real estate portfolio in the area.

The significant price reduction of Meghan Trainor's former Encino estate highlights the dynamic nature of the luxury real estate market. Despite its extensive renovations and a host of desirable amenities, the property's lengthy time on the market led to a substantial price cut, making it a more attractive prospect for potential buyers seeking an opulent home in a prime Los Angeles location. This move underscores a strategic adjustment to align with current market conditions and attract a successful sale for the celebrity property.
